Ms. Marvin has managed her own law practice and client base since 2004.
Before starting the Law Office of Allison G. Marvin, Ms. Marvin practiced at the prestigious law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the firm's intellectual property, information technology, and corporate practice groups. Ms. Marvin advised business, art and cultural entities, such as Microsoft, Yahoo!, Patagonia, the National Geographic Society and the Smithsonian Institution, on copyright, trademark, trade dress, right of publicity, technology licensing, Internet, corporate governance, and information privacy matters. As a senior associate, Ms. Marvin initiated and co-coordinated the firm's Law of Art and Culture practice area.
